Important Community Issues (as of November 2009)

Paving of Lamkin Drive/Road
There are current discussions surrounding the question of whether or not to pave Lamkin Road/Drive.

If you are in favor of paving Lamkin Road/Drive and would like additional information, please contact Tom Dansbury.

If you are opposed to paving Lamkin Road/Drive and would like additional information contact Jack Bodt.

Wash-Out Bridge Development

The concept of a wooden bridge over the highway wash-out on M-119, north of Island View Road is also open for discussion to interested parties.  The Heritage Highway Committee is looking to seek government funding to create a wooden bridge as a portion of M-119 that will take drivers and cyclists over the old wash-out area.  For additional information on the M-119 bridge, please contact Dick Cobb.

Lamkin Drive Wash-Outs

Lamkin Drive washed out during several heavy rains in late summer/early fall. The county road commission and the county drain commission are reviewing the wash-outs to determine what options exist in addressing the situation.

ATV Ordinance
Readmond, Friendship and Cross village townships recently passed local ordinances to allow ATV vehicles to ride on county roads. Lakeshore Drive is not considered a county road and would not be included in this ordinance.
